Description

Hello, my name is Grace McManus. I have been a member of Sunny Willow Swim Club for as long as I can remember. I am asking our club members to assist in raising money through Simon’s Heart Project to equip Sunny Willow Swim Club with an AED (automated external defibrillator). It is so critical that Sunny Willow has an AED because it is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest which can occur to anyone at any age. In the case of a cardiac emergency, the AED will analyze the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm. If someone experiences cardiac arrest, they are 70% more likely to survive if an AED is used. With the 350,000 people who die of cardiac arrest every year, and all the many activities that occur at Sunny Willow like the swim and dive team, basketball team, water aerobics and more, it is vital that we have an AED on scene in case of an emergency. Please consider making a donation to help us get an AED and save lives.
