Description
March 2022,two Perrysville Firefighters, along with other First Responders were recognized by The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, and out of UPMC Pre-Hospital Care.
Early December Perrysville VFC/QRS was dispatched for an 18-year-old at Center Stage Dance Studio not breathing. Upon arrival on scene within two minutes First Responders confirmed By-Stander CPR in Progress on the patient. The by-Stander was relieved, and CPR was resumed on the patient by Perrysville VFC/QRS. The AED was attached to the patient with one shock delivered minutes after their arrival on scene. After delivery of the shock, strong pulses were observed on the patient. Additional advanced medical care was completed upon EMS arrival on scene.
As noted on the post we have shared below, “The importance of each and every link of the chain of survival working correctly. The amount of people and equipment involved in a call like this is incredible, but honestly, is of little value without the great work of the staff at Center Stage Dance Studio.”
Please learn CPR.
Please know where AED’s are located and how to use them. It is so very important.
Perrysville VFC wishes the patient a strong and successful future.
Thank you to her family, and UPMC Pre-Hospital services for making this event possible.
We are looking to provide an AED to be in this facility to help save additional lives in the future
